Tranmere story

Danny Holmes is an English former defender from Birkenhead who joined Tranmere Rovers’ youth system as a child. After an early senior spell and a loan with Southport, he played for The New Saints before returning to Tranmere in 2011.

Holmes later represented Newport County, AFC Fylde, York City, Bangor City, Connah’s Quay Nomads and Colwyn Bay. He moved into management with Vauxhall Motors in 2023 and extended his contract with the club in 2026.
